Graduate Students - Fall 2026
We are excited to announce PhD opportunities in the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University (Faculty of Engineering), starting Fall 2026.
The successful candidates will join the Geomechanics Laboratory (Prof. Ferri Hassani) and the Mine Multiphysics Laboratory (Prof. Agus P. Sasmito) to work on cutting-edge research in geomechanics, mining, materials, and energy systems.
Eligibility
- Strong academic background (Mechanical, Mining, Materials, Civil/Geotechnical, or Chemical Engineering, or related fields).
- Demonstrated excellence in areas such as heat transfer, fluid mechanics, FEM, CFD, rock mechanics, mineral processing, and optimization.
- Research experience through projects, internships, presentations, or publications.
- Excellent communication skills; motivation for industry-oriented research.
